3. Exercise with varied pace. If you go for a walk or spend time on aerobic equipment at a steady pace you are burning calories however you want to achieve a bigger goal and that is to boost your metabolism. For that you must vary the intensity at which you workout. Alternate between periods of slow pace/effort and high pace/effort. This can get your body burning fat faster for the entire day.

4. Do not be afraid to add muscle. Your metabolic rate is largely dependant on how much muscle your body carries (this is why men tend to have faster metabolisms then women). Add 2 to 3 sessions of weight training to your week and do not be afraid of heavy weights.
